Review of Sheets by Brenna Thummler–
As the review on the top of the cover says, “You will be captivated” and yes it was a truly captivating read. This book is a piece of art, a beautiful story which is lead by imparting artwork. From the beginning of the book, you are engrossed. I finished this book in one sitting. It’s a story of not giving up in hard times, supporting your family and trying to overcome your current situation with hard work and positivity. The moral shows us to take charge of your current situation to build a better life. This book isn’t just for kids, it’s also a great read for adults.
My feelings about the book Sheets by Brenna Thummler–
Sheets was one of the most interesting reads of 2018. A 240 pages long graphical novel with a great story and beautiful artwork. This book is not a comics. It’s hard to tell a wholly fictional story through pictures and a few texts but Thummler has done a great job of telling this beautiful story through her astonishing artwork. The artwork and story go hand in hand without any misinterpretation.
The plot of the book Sheets by Brenna Thummler–

Wendell is a ghost, a friendly one. A boy who lost his life at an early age. In process of exploring his afterlife, Wendell sabotages the life that Marjorie is trying to build. What happens next is the story of Sheets.
Characters in the book Sheets by Brenna Thummler–
The characters in the book are carefully crafted. Marjorie is a kid but she is trying to take responsibility for her life and everyone around her. She is trying to manage her school life and her family business. She is brave and even after losing her mother she is fighting and taking hold of her life. Wendell is a ghost of a kid, who didn’t understand the problems that Marjorie is facing. Wendell unknowingly
What I didn’t like –
At one point the book became predictable but I won’t complain about this since it happens in children books. I knew what will happen next but I was curious to know how it will happen.
Children books tend to become predictable at one point but I liked the fact that I didn’t know how are we going to reach that conclusion. Like every story, this story too had a beginning, a middle and an end, but how that end will happen made me read through pages and kept me captivated.
Narration is in first perspective. The Narration is not just textual based it also relies on the artwork. The narration convinces you to believe the story.
Sheets is a 5-star read. The artwork is very pretty and I recommend everyone to read this book.
